Things Learned from Tangled: Part 1

Some argue that Tangled is just another one of those "Disney Princesses" movies that is just off of a fairy tale, but to me, Tangled has so much more than just a fairy tale, it has lessons and examples of the real life!

Saturday night, my roommate and I watched Tangled with some friends. When we came back home, we talked about it for over an hour. We talked about all the things we've learned this time watching the movie. We've both seen it so many times, but every single time we find out something new about it!

One thing that we kept coming back to was love! How much Rapunzel and Flynn loved each other.

In the beginning of the movie, they didn't love each other, but by the end, they have the greatest, most selfless love. Just watch these two clips if you aren't familiar with the show, or can't remember.

#1:

#2:

This is real, true love!!In the first clip, Flynn comes after Rapunzel to save her from Mother Gothel. He gets hurt and all Rapunzel wants to do is save him. She is WILLING to give up her life, her happiness to let Flynn live. Rapunzel is about ready to save Flynn, and he says to her "I can't let you do this".
Rapunzel responds with "And I can't let you die"
"But if you do this, you will die" (Flynn)
"Hey it's going to be alright" (Rapunzel)

She's about ready to start singing him so she can save him, but at the last second, he cuts her hair, causing it to go brown and freeing Rapunzel from Mother Gothel. He didn't wait for Rapunzel to heal him, he did it before, because he cares for her MORE than he cares for himself. He wants Rapunzel to be free from Mother Gothel!

In the second clip, even though her magic hair is cut off, Rapunzel still tries to save Eugene. She sings the song, and nothing happens. Eugene then makes a confession "You were my new dream" and she responded with "And you were mine".
She ends up saving him, and they live happily ever after.
But to me, these two are one of the greatest examples of love. They loved each other so much that they were willing to give up their own lives for each other. They became each others new dream!
