Hymn 193: I STAND ALL AMAZED!

I will admit right off that I have been slacking a little. The past few weeks have been just a little crazy!! School started piling up, and I got sick.


And when I think that God, his Son not sparing,
Sent him to die, I scarce can take it in,
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing, 
He bled and died to take away my sin.

I sat there in Relief Society just staring at the hymn, thinking about all that Jesus Christ has done for me. In the pre-mortal world, Jesus offered to come to earth as our Savior, to take away our sins. Not only did he take away our sins he also had to experience being alone, because one the cross, God had to take his presence away from him so then Christ could finish the atonement, so he could feel what it was like to be alone, so that he could help me, 2000 years later when I felt alone and no one knew what was I was going through! And my favorite line in that whole song is "That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,..." Gladly, Jesus did it gladly because he loved me, and because of that "I scarce can take it in,..." He did that all, just because he loves us.

The week after I was sitting in testimony meeting and someone was bearing their testimony of the atonement. As a result, another hymn came to mind: 193, I Stand All Amazed

I think of his hands pierced and bleeding to pay the debt!
Such mercy, such love and devotion can I forget? 
No, no I will praise and adore at the mercy seat, until at the glorified throne I kneel at his feet. 
Oh, it is wonderful that he should care for me
Enough to die for me!
Oh, it was wonderful, wonderful to me!

It just amazes me that someone could love everyone so much to not only die for them, but to suffer every pain and affliction! I love Jesus Christ, and I'm so thankful for his love and sacrifice for me! I'm so glad that I get to and partake of the sacrament every week and spend that time thinking of Jesus Christ.
